Seagrave Wolds Challenge

The Seagrave Challenge was devised to encourage exploration of the rolling countryside around Seagrave, and to raise money to help towards the refurbishment and upkeep of Seagrave Memorial Hall and to support other good causes. Now in its 12th year it uses footpaths, bridle ways, some private farm land, minor roads, and have been allowed to make our own route through other private land not normally available to the public. Perhaps due to the bad weather 159 of the 672 registered either failed to start or retired during the race. This year GRC’s Rob Howbrook took part in a very wet and muddy event finishing in 38th place in a time of 2:11:54. Also competing was former member Jez Page who came out of retirement to finish in 119th place in a time of 2:32:31.
